The Life Between

A little unfinished prototype of a game where you wash up on a mysterious and moody island, explore, and talk to weird characters.

Submission for NaNoRenO 2025. We joined halfway through, so this was made in two weeks.

To call this a "visual novel" is stretching the definition a bit, but there is no other gameplay elements aside from talking.

Features:

Day/Night cycle.

Three characters to talk to.

Some landscapes and landmarks to look at.

There will be an update after the jam that adds two more characters.

No objective or end.

Note that the game is very unoptimized. Sadly I have no idea what to do about that, but performance does get better after a few minutes of playing.
